I have enjoyed countless of rounds of twenty-one. I started sneaking into the gambling halls when I was still underage. I have gambled on online 21, I have counted cards, and worked with a team for a short while. With all that said I have still lost a lot of funds at chemin de fer. The gambling halls have made it basically impossible to defeat the game.
I still like the game and wager on a regular basis. Over the years I have bet on a variation of chemin de fer called "The Take it Leave it Method". You certainly won’t get loaded with this method or defeat the casino, however you will have an abundance of fun. This tactic is built on the idea that 21 seems to be a match of runs. When you are hot your on fire, and when you’re not you’re NOT!
I play basic strategy 21. When I don’t win I wager the table minimum on the successive hand. If I don’t win again I bet the lowest amount allowed on the subsequent hand again etc. Once I profit I take the payout paid to me and I bet the initial bet again. If I win this hand I then keep in play the winnings paid to me and now have double my original wager on the table. If I win again I take the payout paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original bet. I keep betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I lose I lower the wager back down to the original bet.
I am very disciplined and do not back out. It gets very thrilling on occasion. If you succeed at a few hands in series your wagers go up very fast. Before you realize it you are gambling $100-200per hand. I have had great streaks a couple of times now. I departed a $5 table at the Venetian a number of years back with $750 after 30 minutes using this technique! And a few months ago in Atlantic City I left a table with $1200!
You must understand that you can squander a lot faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more exciting. And you will be aghast at the streaks you witness betting this way. Here is a chart of what you would wager if you continue winning at a five dollar game.

Take 40 dollar paid to you, leave the original forty dollar wager
Wager forty dollar
Leave $40 paid-out to you for a total wager of eighty dollar
Bet $80
Take $80 paid-out to you, leave the original eighty dollar bet
Wager eighty dollar
Leave eighty dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of $160
Wager $160
Take one hundred and sixty dollar paid to you, leave the initial $160 wager
If you left at this instance you would be up 3 hundred and fifteen dollars !!
It’s iffy to go on a run this long, but it occasionally happen. And when it does you mustn’t deviate and lower your wager or the final result won’t be the same.
